That day, suddenly, like an angel descending from the sky, AYLİN HANIM with turquoise espadrilles appeared before him. It was a moment that would be the turning point of his life and also his work. This unique moment would continue with marriage and two beautiful daughters. Mr. Ercan would establish “BETA” shoes and immortalize those turquoise espadrilles. After their 50-year marriage, that angel, Ms. Aylin, would return to heaven. Now, Mr. Ercan is reviving those espadrilles with the name of his granddaughter “SU” with the legacy of “BETA” shoes and love. What do you think, the story of Suede espadrilles filled with love may one day become a turning point in your life when you have a pair on your feet? Wear them on good days and with love.
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your interest in our espadrilles.
With your permission, I would like to share with you why our espadrilles are so valuable and the story of their adventure.
The only factor that makes espadrilles, whose homeland is Spain, an espadrille is actually their sole. We produce our soles with ropes made from real jute plants that grow in wetlands and have very long fibers that can absorb 64% of the moisture. First, we make this natural jute rope into a 6-strand braided strip, then women shape each one by wrapping them 8 times by hand, and women sew the sole horizontally with a 30 cm long awl on a sewing machine. The bottom of our soles is natural rubber. Each pair is baked in steel molds in a 170-degree oven for 5 minutes to bond the jute rope and natural rubber.
The uppers made of natural material (the upper part of our espadrilles) are distributed to the homes of 72 women, who sew these uppers onto the soles.
We hope you love our espadrilles, which we produce with passion, entirely by hand and from natural materials, as much as we do.
We hope you will use it on very beautiful and enjoyable summer days.
With love,
Ozlem Ikisik Barutcu
